attention (n.).
1. the directional focus of a mind's active thoughts. the current source of informational or sensational input.
2. functionally, an uncontrollable reaction to some overriding external stimulus, referred to herafter as the interrupt. at the occurrance of an interrupt, the mind immediately gives its attention to the interrupt, and, shortly after, any other relevant information it happens to consider potentially of consequence.
